The 15th EARA conference in La Barrosa, Cádiz, was attended by many students and early career scholars and was an inspiring event! The scientific program was of high quality, covered important topics of adolescent research and included research from a wide variety of European countries and even from several other parts of the world. It was great to see that many young scholars were actively involved in the program, not only presenting their research in poster presentations but also in symposia. SECNet organized several well-attended activities for young scholars during the conference:
Conversation with the editors
Five editors (Wim Beyers, Luc Goossens, Theo Klimstra, Katariina Salmela-Aro, Rita Zukauskiene) gave useful information about the publishing process and valuable advice to increase the chances of getting our research published.
Young Scholar Dinner
We had a great dinner, with 66 young scholars, at restaurant Tierra y Mar in Chiclana de la Frontera. This was a wonderful opportunity to broaden our network and to get to know each other better.
SENet poster award at the General Assembly
The SECNet poster award committee, chaired by Elisabetta Crocetti and Katharina Eckstein, awarded the three best posters presented by doctoral students. The posters were judged by past EARA presidents Wim Meeus and Peter Noack, and current EARA president Rita Zukauskiene.
The winners of the SECNet poster award were:
- Hana Hadiwijaya (Tilburg University)
- Annette Spithoven (University of Leuven)
- Natalie Mercer (Utrecht University).
