I have been a SECNet National Representative of Finland 2014-2016, and a member of EARA since 2011. I participated in the EARA/SRA Summer School in 2011 and the EARA conferences in 2016, 2014 and 2012. In SECNet, I would like to promote visibility of SECNet in upcoming events and in the research community and to increase international and multidisciplinary networking and collaboration, for instance with other international societies as well as senior scholars.

Ioana Pop - Communication Manager
I am a post-doctoral researcher at Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. My research interests regard identity development in educational settings and its relations with personal and contextual factors. Currently, I am involved in a research project regarding the longitudinal role of personal and parental dimensions of identity and perfectionism on positive adjustment in adolescence. As the communication manager of SECNet, I intend to collaborate with the other members of SECNet committee in order to plan viable strategies for spreading information about SECNet and about SECNet activities (e.g., develop promotion materials, get in touch with potential new members, participate in organization of SECNet activities at EARA conferences).

Jennifer Symonds
I am an assistant professor of education at the University College Dublin School of Education in Ireland. At UCD I teach youth mental health and well-being in school settings and research methods. My research focuses on student engagement and well-being at the mid-school and school-to-work transitions. I became the SECNet incoming chairperson in 2008, then chairperson in 2010, working closely with Hebbah Elgindy and Shannon Snapp. I had big shoes to fill, taking over as chairperson from Irene De Goode and Peter Titzmann. We made some changes to the committee, by giving it a new name (SECNet) and putting up the first SECNet website. I really enjoyed my time volunteering for the SECNet and would recommend for any early career researcher to do the same. Currently I am the EARA national representative for Ireland.
